Volunteer

The Resource Center is a fulfilling and meaningful place to volunteer.  We always have a list of projects for anyone interested in human services, community-building, community-organizing, and grass-roots change.  Contact us for more information—we can craft the right opportunity for you!

We are always happy to mentor students that need hands-on community-based work to complete internships or culminating projects.  If you’re interested in an internship (an academic quarter or longer) please submit a cover letter and resume. All prospective interns and volunteers, please fill out the volunteer application, and send to coordinator@ferndalecrc.org.

Current Volunteer Needs:

  • Front Desk Client Care (Mondays shifts only):  Provide a warm and welcoming environment at the Center, give families and individuals information and referrals to services, help fill out DSHS and housing applications, answer the phone, and complete other office organizational projects as needed.
  • Outreach:  Help with community education, newspaper articles, table displays, brochures, fliers, presentations, social media and event planning.
  • Website developer
  • Grant writer
  • Co-coordinate the Ferndale Community Network (FCN):  Every first Thursday of the month, Ferndale residents and human service providers meet at the Resource Center to discuss current needs, events, and collaborations in the community.   Assist with developing and coordinating a speaker series for these meetings, creating an online FCN community calendar, and developing a newsletter.
  • Program Development:  Do you have an idea for a project or see a particular need in the community?
  • Board Members:  Join the Ferndale Community Service Cooperative
